About This Privacy Policy
We built Human Computer’s website because we love games and want a place to share what we’re making with people who care about them. That’s really it.
Respecting your privacy isn’t just a legal obligation for us. It’s something we genuinely care about. We believe you should be able to visit a website without feeling like you’re being watched, profiled, or monetized. So we’ve made it a priority to collect as little information as possible, and only what we actually need to keep the site running and hear from people who want to get in touch.
We will never sell your personal information. We don’t want to. The rest of this document gets into the legal details — which we know isn’t the most exciting read — but we wanted to say that plainly up front, in plain English, before the lawyers get a word in.
Welcome to human.computer (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains how Human Computer Game Corporation ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information about you when you visit our website.
By using this Site, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Site.
This Site is intended for users who are at least 18 years of age. Individuals under 18 may only access the Site with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian.

You can set your browser to inform websites that you do not wish to be tracked by enabling or disabling DNT in your browser’s preferences or settings page.

To request removal of such content, California residents under 18 may contact us at hello@human.computer and include the email address associated with their account. Please be aware that a removal request does not guarantee complete or comprehensive removal of all content or information posted online, and that the law may not permit or require removal in all circumstances.
12. Business Transfers
If Human Computer Game Corporation is involved in a merger, acquisition, asset sale, financing, or other business transaction, your personal information may be transferred to the acquiring entity as part of that transaction. We will provide notice before your personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
In the event of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, personal information held by us may also be among the assets transferred. In such cases, we will endeavor to direct the acquiring party to handle your information in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy.
13. Notice to EEA and UK Residents (GDPR)
This section applies to individuals located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom (UK) and supplements the rest of this Privacy Policy. Human Computer Game Corporation acts as the Data Controller for personal data collected through this Site.
a. Legal Basis for Processing
We process personal data only where we have a lawful basis to do so under the GDPR. Depending on the purpose, we may rely on one or more of the following legal bases: your consent; performance of a contract with you; compliance with a legal obligation; protection of vital interests; tasks carried out in the public interest; or our legitimate interests, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms.
b. International Data Transfers
Your personal data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the EEA or UK, including the United States, where data protection laws may differ. Where we transfer personal data outside the EEA or UK to a country not recognized as providing an adequate level of protection, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and/or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA), supplemented as appropriate by technical and organizational measures such as encryption and access controls.
You may contact us at hello@human.computer to request further information about the safeguards we apply to international transfers, including copies of relevant contractual protections where applicable.
c. Your Rights under the GDPR
If you are located in the EEA or UK, you have the following rights regarding your personal data, subject to applicable conditions and exceptions:
Right of access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Right to rectification — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”) — request deletion of your personal data where there is no longer a lawful basis for processing
Right to restriction of processing — request that we limit processing of your data in certain circumstances
Right to data portability — receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format and transmit it to another controller
Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing purposes
Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at hello@human.computer. We will generally respond within one month and may extend by up to two further months where necessary under applicable law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority in the EEA or the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you believe we have not handled your personal data in compliance with applicable law.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.

CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS — YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS UNDER THE CCPA
16. Notice to California Residents — California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)
This section applies solely to visitors, users, and others who reside in the State of California ("California Consumers"). We adopt this notice to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 and its amendments, including the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (collectively, "CCPA"). Any terms defined in the CCPA have the same meaning when used in this section.
a. Categories of Personal Information We Collect
In the preceding 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information from California Consumers:
Identifiers — such as your name and email address, collected when you contact us voluntarily
Internet or other electronic network activity — such as browsing history on our Site, pages visited, and interaction with content, collected automatically via analytics tools
We do not collect Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, precise geolocation data, biometric information, medical or health information, or sensitive personal information as defined under the CCPA.
b. Purposes for Collecting Personal Information
We collect the personal information listed above for the following business purposes:
To respond to your inquiries and provide the services or information you request
To send you communications you have opted into, such as newsletters or updates
To understand how visitors use our Site and improve its content and functionality
To maintain the security and integrity of our Site
To comply with applicable legal obligations
c. Sale or Sharing of Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration. We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes. Because we do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA, we do not offer a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" opt-out link at this time. If our practices change, we will update this policy accordingly.
d. Your Rights as a California Consumer
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the CCPA, subject to certain exceptions:
Right to Know — You may request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources from which we collected it, the purposes for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom we have shared it.
Right to Delete — You may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions (e.g., information we are required to retain by law).
Right to Correct — You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing — As noted above, we do not currently sell or share personal information. If this changes, you will have the right to opt out.
Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information — We do not collect or process sensitive personal information, so this right does not currently apply.
Right to Non-Discrimination — We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. We will not deny you goods or services, charge you different prices, or provide a different level of quality because you exercised your rights.
e. How to Submit a Request
To exercise your rights under the CCPA, you may submit a verifiable consumer request by contacting us at:
Email: hello@human.computer
Website: https://human.computer
We will respond to verifiable consumer requests within 45 days of receipt. If we require more time (up to 90 days total), we will inform you in writing of the reason and extension period. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request; we will not require you to create an account with us to submit a request.
You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We may require verification that the agent is authorized to act on your behalf and may require you to verify your identity directly with us.
f. California "Shine the Light" Law
California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits California residents to request, once per calendar year, information about personal information disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes in the prior calendar year. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes, so this provision does not apply. If our practices change, we will update this section.
g. Global Privacy Control (GPC)
We respect the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser or device transmits a GPC signal when you visit our Site, we will treat it as a valid opt-out request from the sale or sharing of your personal information, to the extent required under applicable California law.
h. Updates to This California Privacy Notice
We will update this California-specific notice at least once every 12 months. The effective date at the top of this Privacy Policy reflects the date of the most recent update.
